This Black Friday, I decided to do something a little different than a typical sale. Black Friday is often a time of rampant consumerism, but I feel like the world needs less consumerism and more connection, especially right now. After this latest development in the United States, I know so many of us are feeling scared about what’s next. That’s why it’s more important than ever to show up for each other and remind ourselves of the power we have when we work together.

In case you haven’t heard about it before, I offer a scholarship program where I give away courses for free to individuals with limited financial access. This scholarship program is my way of making sure that trans people, no matter their situation, have access to the tools and support they need to feel confident and euphoric in their identity. But I can’t always afford to clear out my scholarship list, so this Black Friday, I decided to do what I can to support people who need it.

From November 25th to November 30th, when anyone buys one of my trans vocal courses, I’ll donate a second course to a trans person on my scholarship list—someone who’s dreaming of learning these skills but doesn’t have the financial means to make it happen. Each purchase doesn’t just empower the person who buys it—it’s also a beautiful gift to someone in our community.

This Buy One, Give One special is my way of helping to strengthen our connection as a community. If you’ve already purchased a course, but still want to support, I’ll also match each dollar you donate this week. With each purchase or donation, we can make sure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to speak, sing, and exist as their most authentic expression.
