I officiated a lesbian wedding!!

life Oct 04, 2023
I officiated a lesbian wedding! (and it was the cutest, gayest day ever!!)

Is it okay if I get a little personal on main for a second??

The highlight of my summer was officiating the wedding of two of my close friends, who shall remain referred to by their internet aliases, Cupcakedex and Miss_Editor.

If you've been following my videos for a while, you might already know about Miss_Editor, the talented editor behind the scenes. While that's not her real name, the online alias has become synonymous with her incredible work. Our partnership has spanned several years, during which we've collaborated on a wide range of projects, including 200 TikToks, music videos, and even a documentary!

We met waaay back in 2018 when we were both in school and it makes me kind of emotional to think of how far we've both come! Through Miss_Editor, I also became close with her lovely now-wife, Cupcakedex (or Dex for short!)

Dex is a very cool online creator who runs a Twitch channel where she makes Pokemon-themed baked goods! I highly recommend following her channel.

Now, you may not know this, but I have actually been to A LOT of weddings in my day. Back in my jazz days, I used to run a wedding music business called Play I Do. I even found proof from the archives of the internet!

And yet somehow, even though I've played dozens of weddings in venues big and small, I never got the opportunity to attend a queer wedding, either as a vendor or a guest.

Well all that changed this summer when Dex and Miss_Editor asked me to officiate their wedding!!

We spent tons of time together through the spring and summer, crafting the perfect ceremony. It went exactly as planned, and everyone in attendance laughed and cried. It was a beautiful and perfect wedding!

I'll admit, I was stressed about officiating. I had never done it before, and I really wanted to do a good job. But after the ceremony was over, I was free to enjoy everything that the brides had planned. There was amazing food, an adorable photo booth, great music, dancing, and they even cut their cake with a freaking sword!! So sapphic!!

It was a night I will never forget and I am so honoured that I got to play the role of officiant in this special day 💕
