Photos from my maritime road trip! (+ AMA)

As you know may know, I took April off to go on a Maritime road trip, and I'm very happy to show you some of my pictures and give you a mini-update.
I decided to keep my pictures and whereabouts private during my trip, mostly for safety reasons but also because it's important to take a break from the implicit performance of being online. Don't get me wrong, I'm as myself as I can be online, but it's just not the same as being totally and utterly alone with yourself. I think we all need that kind of break sometimes!
I was on the road for three weeks, and during that time, I drove through three Canadian provinces (New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia) and three American states (Maine, New Hamshire, Vermont). I was "car camping" the entire time, which meant I converted my hatchback into a mini-camper. Here's a picture of my packed car just before I hit the road!
It was pretty scary sleeping in my car on that first and second night, but I quickly got used to it. I slept in parking lots, on beaches, in forests, on mountains, in churchyards, in suburban street parking, on a lookout overlooking a paper mill, and in the driveway of an abandoned house!
I saw some amazing tides in the Bay of Fundy, as well as some incredible sunsets, rocky coastlines - AND I got trapped in a snowstorm on Prince Edward Island!
I also spent a lot of time visiting a friend in Halifax. I had never visited that city and it was so great getting to know it with a local. went to amazing bookstores and museums and took some lovely walks. I can't wait to go back there!
This road trip was so fun that I feel hungry to do it again. There's so much of North America that I can drive to! I will definitely be planning another trip like this soon. Where should I visit next??
Now I'm officially back in the work headspace - it took a few weeks to ramp up to 100%! Over on TikTok, I posted a mini-version of this blog post, and at the end of it, I asked:
