Top 3 Queer Books That I Read in 2022
Jan 10, 2023You might not be aware of this, but I am an avid reader. I love reading! I wanted to share with you my three favourite queer books that I read in 2022. Watch this blog post as a short video above.
1. She Who Became The Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
This book has everything! It's got various flavours of nonbinaryness, war, and history. It's unclear who the good guys are. You're not sure which side to root for. And there's a very queer sex scene! I Highly recommend She Who Became The Sun. I read this one so fast.
2. Manhunt by Gretchen Felker-Martin.
This is an instant classic of the horror genre. This book is extremely trans, it's a dystopian future book about trans women who are looking to get estrogen in... ways. I don't want to give too much away, but the cover showing two plums with a bite taken out of one of them says it all. It's very graphic and scary, so if that's not for you, skip this one. But if you're into horror, it's an instant classic, and I highly recommend it.
3. The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
This is a science fiction book, sort of a space opera, but it's really like a book about family, with an ensemble cast. It looks at how different species interact with each other, how people with different ideas about what families should look like, and how they can get along.
I read this book so fast because it was so engrossing, I couldn't put it down, and I cried! So if you like science fiction and you want queer family vibes, it's a surprisingly cozy read for a science fiction book.
So that's it! These are my three favourite queer books that I read in 2022.
