Narrating Video Games for Trans Voice Pratice - Stardew Valley!

Hi, I'm Renée, and I'm a gender-affirming voice teacher. While I may not consider myself a gamer, I've recently discovered a brilliant way to integrate voice practice into everyday life. One of my students shared with me how she narrates the un-narrated characters in the video games she plays, and I couldn't wait to explore this unique approach. Today, I'll be demonstrating this technique using my favourite game, Stardew Valley. Join me as we explore into the world of voice narration and see how it can enhance your vocal flexibility and bring joy to your practice.

To start, let's take a closer look at how narrating video game characters can be a valuable exercise. By speaking aloud and providing voices for these characters, you have the opportunity to explore various vocal qualities and expand your range of expression. This practice helps you tap into aspects of your voice that may not be regularly utilized, fostering vocal flexibility and supporting your overall voice training journey.

In the video above, I'll be playing Stardew Valley and narrating the characters myself. Afterwards, I encourage you to rewatch the video on mute and try narrating the characters yourself.

Not only does this exercise allow you to practice your vocal skills, but it also encourages creativity, improvisation, and relaxation. By incorporating voice practice into enjoyable activities like gaming, you can make your training sessions more engaging and rewarding.

In conclusion, narrating video game characters is a fantastic way to enhance your voice practice. Through this interactive approach, you can gain vocal flexibility, explore new qualities in your voice, and have fun in the process. Remember, voice training doesn't always have to be serious and rigid; it can be enjoyable and playful too!

Now, it's time for me to return to my farm in Stardew Valley, but I hope this demonstration has inspired you to embark on your own voice narration adventure. Happy gaming and happy practicing!
