How I made my e-course as safe and accessible as I could
Aug 29, 2021
In case you didn't know, safety/security for trans people, and accessibility for disabled people are two things that are extremely important to me.
I chose to make an e-course because I wanted to make trans voice information more easily accessible to everyone. But beyond that, I wanted my course to be one of the most secure, safe, and accessible courses out there.
To briefly toot my own horn, I've taken a lot of e-courses in my day and I've never seen one as secure and accessible as mine.
Here is a list of safety, security, and accessibility features I built into Trans Vocal Exploration.
🔴 Quick Exit Button
On every page of my website, you will find a Quick Exit button either in the navigation bar or in a blue button in the sidebar. If you're accessing the web version of this course and you're concerned about maintaining privacy from people in your space, you can always click that button to navigate away from my page.
🟠 Kajabi Mobile App
If it's safer for you to access this course on your phone or tablet, download the Kajabi app and log in to the course there. You'll have access to all the same information as you would in the web version.
🟡 Captions & Audio Descriptions
All 60+ videos in the course have been captioned. You can turn this on by clicking the CC button on the video and clicking English. You can also scroll through the captions and search keywords. Also, all visual elements on the screen are described.
🟢 Notes, Transcripts, and MP3s
In an effort to support as many learning styles as possible, I have provided the course material in a variety of different formats. In each lesson, you'll find course notes summarizing the key concepts for the lesson, transcripts of the videos in case you'd like a read-only version of the material, and a downloadable mp3 of each video so that you can listen without the video element.
🔵 100% Anonymous
Being trans myself, I understand how scary it can be to try and find trans resources when you're not yet out of the closet. This course is 100% anonymous. Your billing data is stored securely on Kajabi servers, your identity is never shared with other participants, and your course purchase shows up as something innocuous on your credit card or PayPal statement.
If you have any questions about getting your access needs met in order to participate in Trans Vocal Exploration, please don't hesitate to reach out and send us an email at [email protected].
We're always looking for ways to make this content more accessible and we're happy to do what we can to improve our service.
